Fifth Grade Homework Policy and Assignments
Homework is review of classroom instruction.

Homework is written on the homework board and is expected to be recorded daily in students' assignment books.

Homework can be long term and short term. Some assignments are due the following day. Some assignments require multiple days to complete.

Homework assignments have the same quality expectations as in class assignments (legibility, check for COPS - Capitalization, Omissions, Punctuation, and Spelling).

Homework should take about an hour to complete.

If students finish homework early, they should read or prepare for upcoming tests and quizzes.

Should your child have difficulty with their assignment, return the unfinished portion to school with a note explaining the difficulty. This will give the fifth grade teachers the opportunity to reteach the lesson.

Work with your child to help them understand the material. Since homework is assessed, it should be a representation of the student's work.
