Homework Assignments: Third Grade         Grade three homework assignments are coordinated with curriculum and assigned daily Monday through Thursday.  The homework will have focus in the areas of math and literacy.  The literacy component will always entail 15 - 20 minutes of individual choice reading and preparation for an end of the week spelling test based on the weekly spelling list.  Occasionally long-term projects are assigned. Weekly Homework June 9 - June 13, 2008 Math Link Literacy Other Monday How Many Hours and Minutes? Possessives - pages 58 & 59 Read for 15 - 20 minutes to yourself. Tuesday Math Message - fraction review pg 366 Compound Words - pages 60 & 61 Read 15 - 20 minutes with a favorite stuffed animal. Wednesday Home Link 11.3   A Fair Game?  pg 368 Contractions - pages 62 & 63 Enjoy reading a favorite book with your parents for 15 - 20 minutes. Thursday Home Link 11.4   Spinners pg 372 Synonyms/Antonyms -pages  67 & 68 Read 15 - 20 minutes with a family member. Friday No Homework Messages Things to bring to school A reminder to continue to practice the multiplication facts! Please be sure to come equipped for the changeable spring weather conditions.  It would be advisable to pack a warm jacket or sweathshirt, and hats for those 'just-in-case' days. We will be reviewing phonetic concepts for these last two weeks, therefore there will be no spelling.   Tuesday and Thursday are PE days, please bring sneakers. (No sandals or Crocs) Field Day is this coming Friday 6/13.  Please be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.  The Talent Show will be in the afternoon following lunch.                                                                    .
