General Outline of Classroom Assignments during the school year.
Reading -15- 20 minutes per night of quality time with books. (Read alouds, child reading or partner reading with family member)
Tuesday - Tuesday Homework Packet in cluding Everyday Math Homelinks and Practice pages, some research or a writing assignment
Other - Weekly Parent letters from me go home on Friday with other information about units and other long term projects.
Purpose - First graders have homework to share what they are learning with you. They practice skills learned in school, and to develop responsible work habits, such as completing an assignment and bringing it back to school. If an assignment is frustrating for your child, please send it back to school and we can work on it here.
